C Squared continues to work with all types of transport organizations and has consulted on a variety of projects over 13 years with Atlantic Canada’s largest port in Halifax. Our experience with the Halifax Port Authority includes the analysis, design, pilot and deployment of an access control system; the analysis and procurement of a video management system; as well as the management of an extensive multi-national security project for a command and control system involving 20 plus vendors and sub-contractors.

Halifax Stanfield International Airport

 

Protecting citizens, public spaces and critical infrastructure like power supplies and telecommunications systems from crime, accidents and an increase in severe weather conditions is paramount for all levels of government, utilities and companies that serve the public.  C Squared has consulted with Halifax International Airport Authority, providing strategic recommendations to improve and standardize technical security systems including access control, video management and CCTV. We have also advised on projects involving deployment, support and maintenance of security systems throughout the Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Technology Solutions for Power Utility 

 

To remain competitive and current, organizations need to adapt to ever-evolving technology, helping their employees and customers communicate effectively. A power utility asked our partner, IMP Solutions, to provide a turnkey solution and upgrade their varied telecommunications technology to a premium, unified system. C Squared was hired to manage the project, co-ordinating the work of multiple suppliers and resources with a range of corporate, employee and customer stakeholders, for the better part of year. Together with IMP Solutions, we successfully rolled out a tier one, best of breed voice over internet protocol (VOIP) system to satellite offices in the central area as well as 12 offices throughout the province . We managed the complex project with minimal interruption to daily business activities, ensuring a high level of success.

Public Safety and Emergency Planning 

 

C Squared has worked for organizations who need to be able to serve the public in a safe and accessible manner every day, while being ready with a plan in place to respond to emergencies. Memorial University of Newfoundland called upon C Squared through a partner relationship to manage an 800+ door access control system as part of the construction of a new student residence. We were able to balance student access and safety with facility security and privacy. 

 

We have also worked with Port Charlottetown, PEI to do a threat and vulnerability assessment of their private and public facilities. We recommended technology upgrades that would safeguard against emergency situations and still be open to visitors from cruise ships, local shoppers and ships importing agricultural products integral to the Island economy.
